LA JOLLA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION APPOINTS LIDIA ROSSNER AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | May 23, 2022
The La Jolla Community Foundation (LJCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lidia Rossner as Executive Director. Established in 2008, the mission of the LJCF is to support the development, launch and completion of improvement projects and services that enhance the environmental, cultural and commercial community of La Jolla.
Prior to joining the LJCF, Lidia was the Communication and Engagement Director at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library. Her work with the Athenaeum was focused on community building, collaborations, and public programming. Lidia earned a B.A. in Applied Arts and Sciences from San Diego State University, and M.A. in Visual and Media Anthropology from Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. A member of the La Jolla Community for more than 20 years, she lives in Bird Rock with her husband and son
“I am joining the La Jolla Community Foundation at a very exciting time of transition and growth,” said Rossner. “The board of directors have been working for years on cultivating civic engagement and meaningful partnerships, and have developed a beautiful vision for improving our community’s public spaces. I am humbled and honored to be given this opportunity to uphold and advance the foundation’s mission for positive impact, and to serve our community.”
“To lead the next chapter of the organization, Lidia’s personal attributes and demonstrated success in strategic communications make her the ideal person to thoughtfully manage change and develop forward-thinking, innovative programs with creativity and enthusiasm,” said Phyllis Pfeiffer, board chair and publisher of the La Jolla Light.
The LJCF is in the process of transitioning to an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in order to better serve the needs of the La Jolla community. During the transition, the LJCF will maintain its affiliate status with The San Diego Foundation, which will continue to steward contributions supporting the La Jolla Community Foundation.
“The San Diego Foundation has been a great partner and mentor for more than a decade. They were instrumental in guiding us to establish a successful organization and we are grateful for all the wonderful individuals who have helped us along the way,” Pfeiffer said.
